My objective:
To make a living stimulating critical thinking with my style of persuasive and engaging writing.
By questioning how research findings might enhance understanding and practice, my writing
seeks to help translate research for the scientific and professional communities, and for the lay
public.
Qualifications as a writer:

I have 26 years experience where writing may not have been in my job title, but was a constant
and essential part of my work, and the ultimate marker of my success.

I specialise in exercise sciences, health and strength and conditioning, with a solid
understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
•
Successful in writing research grants both in academia and for contract research.
•
I have benefited from the unparalleled experience of 26 years success with academic writing
resulting in 2 books, 2 book chapters, 23 peer-reviewed journal articles, 3 technical reports, and
46 non peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations. I have reviewed academic articles
for several academic journals.

WriMen 2 opinion pieces published in the mainstream news media.
•
WriMen content for two on-line distance taught courses, numerous laboratory manuals, and
course web content.
•
I have supervised over 40 graduate students through PhDs, Masters, Post Graduate Diplomas
and Honours degrees. Each of those dissertations involved writing mentoring and editing.
