Summary
I am an IT professional with over 25+ years of experience. Most of my work involves solving problems and finding
solutions that are practical and useful. Delivering robust solutions to meet specific business needs.
I enjoy the public facing side of data, using various tools to visualize it in meaningful ways that identify trends,
highlight patterns or spot outliers to support sound decision making. However, it is the work behind the scenes in
data identification, collection, verification, transformation, integration and modelling that ensures accurate data that
enables good outputs, so I find this work rewarding. Integration and data pipelines are often problem points in a
project and much of my work has revolved around delivering quality outcomes in this space.
My experience with many types of projects across the entire data engineering stack in many industries enables
me to pickup roles with a specific focus in one of these areas or preform broad spectrum roles wherever the need
is greater.
My experience has given me the opportunity to work with people from all aspects of an organisation. An
important aspect of the work is being able to identify the needs and priorities of the stake holders. I have worked
directly for boards, IT heads, subject matter experts or technical users. In teams of as an individual. In all cases
understanding the goals and being able to give recommendations that make both practical and technical sense is
an aspect of the work I enjoy.
I am also and experienced full-stack developer have used many tools in green-field project or as part of long-term
and on-going work.
My key strengths:
Vision, ideas, lateral thinking, patience & perseverance. I’m pragmatic and creative with the ability to join-the-dots.
I am a good problem solver. I can hit the ground running, bring my skills and picking up new things as required to
achieve the goals required.
