THE NIGERIAN STOCK EXCHANGE: ENTERPRISE DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EDMS) DEPLOYMENT The Nigerian Stock Exchange sought to launch an Electronic Document Management System to store, control and manage its historical and operational documents generated from inception till present day, in a bid to overcome the handicaps of paper-based document storage, while also favorably impacting productivity and performance through the application of digital document processing technology. I was among the onsite team responsible for the digitization of the Exchange’s accumulated historical documentary records as well as the deployment of an end-toend operational document management system which integrates Kofax capture processing technology with Microsoft SharePoint EDMS functionality. My team was able to deliver within budgetary and time constraints the following: ▪ A total revamp of the document handling practices, across all agreed departments of the Stock Exchange. ▪ Standard document libraries of digitized legacy documents characterized by ease of retrieval. ▪ A properly inventoried and catalogued document archive domiciled at an offsite storage facility.
