My name is Otobong Umoren,
I’m a 20-year-old Psychology undergraduate at the University of Uyo, Nigeria and..
I have a strong passion for copywriting, persuasion, and research-driven communication.
As a psychology student, I intentionally apply my understanding of human behavior, human motivation, and persuasion techniques to my writing. Using psychological principles such as clarity, emotional triggers, resolution of cognitive biases, and persuasive framing In order to improve how my copy is received and acted upon.
I have spent the past several months closely studying and mastering the skill of copywriting through books by legendary proven copywriters like Joe Sugarman, David Ogilvy, Kyle Milligan Tom Albrighton, and others,
While also breaking down and studying high-performing emails, VSL scripts, landing pages, sales pages, and social media copy.
As my daily practice, I re-write high converting copy, and craft new ones from scratch, in order to better adopt brand voices,understand what works, why it works, and how it can be adapted for different audiences and niches.
I aim to apply psychology, implement effective structures, and use clarity in my writing, in order to grab more attention, sustain it, and sell more.
Beyond writing, I am a fast learner, very detail-oriented, and deeply committed to personal growth. I work well with others in team settings and I’m excited to contribute to the growth of your company.
In my department at the university, I currently serve as the DOA (Director of Academics), where I help fellow students develop effective study habits, apply proven learning techniques, and collaborate with others. This role has strengthened my communication ,leadership and ability to remain productive under pressure.
I am comfortable working under tight deadlines and stressful conditions. I follow detailed instructions carefully and take initiative when needed. I also handle criticism well and I see it as an opportunity to grow and get better.
My top priorities are ; Deep market/product research, clear communication and client satisfaction.
Before I developed interest in direct response copywriting, I worked professionally as a portrait Artist , portrait drawing is a skill that requires extreme attention to detail, patience, and precision — these qualities now translate directly into my writing and editing process.
Outside of writing,
I enjoy reading, meditating, spending time in nature, and working out, these help me stay balanced and focused.
