Omiz Jan Pocong

Hi there! I’m Omiz Jan, a 25 years old, Civil Engineering professional with solid experience in construction supervision, technical documentation, and remote engineering support.

I’ve been fortunate to work on both private and government construction projects here in the Philippines, and internationally in a US-based company remotely. This combination has given me a well-rounded background—from hands-on fieldwork to international technical documentation.

My journey started with an internship at a private construction firm, where I assisted the engineering head across several projects. I handled quantity estimates, prepared purchase requests, made vendor calls, negotiated with suppliers, and followed up on procurement. I also joined site inspections on various projects and submitted progress reports—this early exposure taught me how important detail accuracy and coordination are in the success of any project.

Eventually, I stepped into the role of Project Site Engineer under a government housing Program. I was assigned to supervise the construction of a five storey building as my first ever project, and being the youngest site engineer in the company, everything from supervision , I have managed 100+ manpower directly on my team, while coordinating with other subcontractors, general contractors, engineers and clients. This is where I have gained hands-on experience on the field of construction industry in a large-scale basis.

Currently, I work from home in a US-based company, particularly in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Engineering Support and Technical Documentation, where I assist API-certified inspectors in preparing technical reports and drawings. My work involves reading plans, prepare shop drawings, interpreting field data, and producing high-quality documents for regulatory compliance in API 650, 653 and STI SPOO1. 

At the core of everything I do are my values: integrity, continuous improvement, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Whether I’m on-site or working remotely, I bring those values with me every day.
