This study covers the development of a web based inventory management system that can easily be deployed with minimal cost. This research makes use of the web technologies including: HTML, CSS, MYSQL, PHP, JavaScript. The framework comprises of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) and JavaScript, which form the basic script used for this project design. The inventory application for the purpose of this study is customized for laboratory equipment in the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. AngularJS (a JavaScript framework) was also used in the development of the platform, which was used in achieving some certain functionalities like form validation. The backend of the platform was developed using PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) while the database was developed using MySQL which was selected because it is open source and also compatible with PHP and Apache server.
