SINGWA EXPERIENCES__________________________________________________________________ English Teacher Total experiences: I have taught English grammar and literature at a secondary school for junior and senior high school students since-. I have taught also Grades I – III English, Math, Science and Social Studies in Elementary School from- and was a Day Care Worker teaching nursery rhymes, values education, alphabet sounds and number games in-. Had other substitute positions to both private and public schools since-. School Experiences: I was a classroom teacher with the following detailed job description: Classroom adviser; prepares daily lesson plan/log and instructional materials; records students’ performance to track learning progress; evaluates learning outcomes using summative and formative tests, students’ outputs, quizzes and performances; diagnoses students’ needs using pretests, students’ background and previous school records; does remedial instructions/reading to low performing students; coaches students for contests and activities and observes high regards of professional and personal characteristics. Current Work: I am self -employed at present. I do gardening and I arrange flowers for all occasions. What I Teach: I teach English grammar and literature, basic journalism, Business English and Basic Research for elementary pupils and high school students. Case Studies: Students have different learning styles and every grading period there are students who perform low or even failed. In this case, I prepare instructional designs or other strategic intervention materials to help the students pass or get higher grades in English subjects. I also do remedial lessons and one to one instruction. For contests programs in the school, division, regional and national levels, I prepare mock tests and do advance lessons and trainings as well. For National Achievement Tests (NAT), I prepare review lessons for vocabulary and reading comprehension for the students to ensure their passing rate. EDUCATION & TRAININGS_______________________________________________________ University of the Cordilleras Baguio City, Philippines Masters of Arts in Education – I completed the academic requirements of this course and with my trainings and teaching experiences, I applied for MA equivalence which was approved for Education Report Form (ERF) authorized by the Department of Education, Philippines. Baguio Colleges Foundation (now University of the Cordilleras) Baguio City, Philippines Bachelor of Science in Education – I am a BSE graduate major in English and minor in Biology. This course includes methods of teaching English as a second language, current trends and strategies in teaching English, advance educational psychology, children’s and world literature, reading and writing skills, adolescent psychology, humanities and ethics. Trainings: For professional growth, I attended seminars and workshop on the following: Seminar Workshop on Teaching Remediation; Enhancing Teachers’ Skills in Reading Readiness; Preparation of Instructional Designs for Reading Remediation and Leveling of Reading Materials; Trends and Tools in Teaching English as a Second Language; Assessment for Learning: Practices, Tools and Approaches.
