WORK EXPERIENCE
PreScouter.Inc Present
Provide research service to Fortune 500 companies by working on projects with Project architects and Performing literature search, find latest research, Prepare evidence-based answers, Research a technical standard, research a product or material, deep dive into a topic, research competitors, prepare a research report. Used google scholar, google patents, Justica, google slides, google spreadsheets.
Recent Project –
a) Research for new carbon capture and storage technology for improving/ optimizing the process efficiency of the chemical plant. Client – BHP
b) Iron ore beneficiation – The client BHP a global mining company was interested in exploring beneficiation technologies to remove impurities such as silica and alumina and others from hematitie and goethite iron ore improving the ores economic value. I researched for technologies like fine dry magnetic separation, wet magnetic separation, Direct Reduced Iron/Hot Briquetted Iron (DRI/HBI), hydro-separator, Calcination.
c) Vinasse purchase - Vinasse is a byproduct from yeast production industry. It can be used as an additive for animal feed and as a fertilizer, but due to its high BTU, it also has high potential for being used in the energy sector. For this project, looked at processes that can most efficiently use vinasse to produce energy, either by burning it or using it for biogas formation.
d) Guayule Resin Separation - Guayule is a source for natural rubber. However, the processing creates a resin stream that includes a mixture of materials that are difficult to separate. I looked for technologies and vendors that carried out the separation of the key materials in the resin stream including: Argentatins, Guayulins, Terpenes and low molecular weight rubbers.
e) New Polymeric films and wraps product/ technology for corrosion protection and durability of structural steel. Client – Sherwin Williams.
f) Highly Conductive Resistant Surfaces - Telecommunication equipment is subjected to harsh environment conditions. These conditions vary from extreme temperatures to other harsh environments, like exposure to salt on shore or extreme pollution in cities I looked for a cost effective - high performance coating for the client - Huber+Suhner
g) Speed of waste composting/biogas formation- When waste has an organic part, and when it is stored in the landfills, biogas production starts by itself. This gas is a renewable energy source, that has as major components CO2 and methane, both of which are greenhouse gas. The client “Orsted” wanted to know how fast it starts, it is seasonal, temperature dependence, etc. from in UK and European case studies. I researched for key parameters like loss in organic matter in 1 month of composting, moisture content, temperature, pre-treatments methods before composting, screening, variation if different chemicals in the volatile organic matter both in compost and gas.
h) Imagining sensors – The client Boston Scientific was interested to find recent advances in imaging sensors in medical application (Endoscopy probes) and micro cameras. I researched for CMOS/ CCD chips developed by university and developed organizations compared parameters like product dimensions, quality, features, price, resolution, framerate, power.
i) Valuable Chemicals from Hazardous waste – The client Beiersdorf was interested in mapping a flowchart to identify all possible valuable chemicals that can be derived from hazardous waste. I researched for organizations providing solutions. The waste source included metal waste, plastic waste, waste biomass, hazardous waste water from industries. Valuable cellulosic derived chemicals include bio succinic acid, malic acid, fumaric acid, 3HPA, glucaric acid, Glycerol. Lignin derived chemicals and fatty acids and lipids. Physical, biological and chemical method technologies were analysed.
j) Online AD analysis – The client Orsted was interested in real time online analyser of waste water and digestate. I researched for UV-vis, Raman, Mass spectrometry, Infrared, Gas chromatography technologies capable of measuring parameters like COD, volatile fatty acids, sulfide, hydrogen, ammonia, sodium, iron, chlorine, phosphate, total suspended solids, carbon dioxide, methane, hydrogen sulphide, oxygen.
a) Landscape of Spherical Silica and Alumina Market – The client Sibelco in south korea was interested to expand their application of spherical silica and alumina powder. I researched for applications in EMC, light weight textiles, paints and coatings, personal care and medical care, ceramics, biotechnology, optical ceramics.
b) Research for temperature monitoring and control technologies sensing heat and creating a thermal heat map across the production equipment (of steel manufacturing) via infrared reading.
