SUSTAINABILITY ADVOCACY DISSEMINATION
SUSTAINABILITY ADVOCACY DISSEMINATION
The connotation of poverty does not end about not having enough food to feed the hungry
and not able to provide clothing and shelter for the needy, but it also carries a much heavier burden
that many people experience and can’t escape from its grasp.
Upon this great crisis in humanity, one of the many start-up solutions could be raising awareness –
Many people may understand that education is a fundamental solution to Poverty, wherein every
educated person has an opportunity to perform an act of justice that could serve as a way out of
poverty. I believe that No solution, to the problem of poverty, is so effective as providing income to
the poor in the form of awareness/education. That could serve as an excellent antidote to different
forms of deprivation. Helping one individual/household understand what is happening around them
and what they can make is the same as giving opportunity to the whole family to get out from Poverty.
Awareness will be less effective and hard to achieve if individuals in societies are not united and
connected. And I think that is the used of social media. Social media is a tool built for the benefit of
the society. Over the past years, social media is a mean for communication and dissemination of
information. Though it carries a lot of burdens with it, I believe that it is a big help to the society at
the end of the day.
I can see that it is an effective platform for my chosen sustainability advocacy dissemination because
it can reach out to other platforms and to many people, whether being thousand miles apart and in a
short period of time. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are one of those existing
variety tools that can be use in promoting and advocating social change. I consider them as innovative
tools for informing and mobilizing communities in an advocacy effort. What is good about these tools
is that they enables individuals to contribute to participatory dialogues about social issues, collaborate
on change efforts and establish a sense of community. These tools can enhance the engagement of
the readers and supporters of the advocacy, which can help sustain efforts in the midst of inevitable
challenges.
ThE SPEECH
The saddest thing in life is to see people suffer from hunger and poverty in a world of plenty. No one
in this world should ever go hungry because of financial deprivation and social depression. It is an
awful fact to accept that while the world is busy keeping up with luxury and innovations, there are still
thousands of faceless beggars out on the cold streets begging for alms. Poverty is a denial of choices
and opportunities, a violation of human dignity. It means insecurity, powerlessness and exclusion of
individuals.
Together, let us all be a point of reference in overcoming Poverty! Strive to achieve the Goal “No
Poverty”, since one cannot learn with empty stomach. Eradicating poverty could also means solving
hunger around poor corners of the world (which can cover the goal 2 of sustainable development
“Zero Hunger” and therefore can be a door for the other goals to be achieve), and for the reason that
we, people, cannot talk about Climate change while families are busy earning a living to survive, it is
quite best to achieve No Poverty first, to strengthen families, to afford Quality education and Finally,
to successfully combat Climate change through establishing innovated Climate actions.
Be part of this act of justice, a protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a
more decent life for our children’s future. Poverty has created a planet of misery within this planet,
which all humanity should be ashamed of! STOP POVERTY! FOR A WORLD THAT LEAVES
NO ONE BEHIND!
Reflection
As I complete the advocacy dissemination activity, I feel that we are blessed that we live in an
era where life is made comfortable and convenient with the presence of technology especially in the
aspect of communication through social media. However, we all need to be responsible in using it in
order to continue making our lives orderly. Otherwise, our world will become chaotic. Also, I’ve
learned that saving the planet, advancing economic growth and lifting people out of poverty are one
and the same fight. We all need knowledge in order to fully and effectively perform our part, and
achieve our power to save what needs to be saved. It seems that in many aspects, education is the
premise of progress, in every society, in every family. And from there we can connect the dots between
climate change, scarcities, global health and other existing problems that the world is facing. Solution
to one problem can always be a door to the solutions for the others.
