Nicolas Baptista

Nicolas began dabbling in computer programming while still in high school. Incredibly excited to begin formal courses in computer programming, Nicolas began his BS in Computer Science at UGF in 2005 and became increasingly interested in the internet market that was exploding at the time. Nicolas soon became so consumed with his side projects, which included highly interactive websites using AS3, that he decided to pause his university education to pursue his career as a full-time creative developer.

Nicolas became a freelancer for marketing and design agencies like Icons Graphx. He soon developed skills creating interactive hypermedia, augmented reality, motion detection, and other cutting edge technologies. He was also able to strengthen a variety of skills creating both front-end and back-end applications for major clients like Infoglobo, Leo Burnett, Bradesco, and Oetker.

In 2009, Nicolas resumed university, but changed his aspirations to obtaining a BS in Information Systems, all while working full time at Go2nPlay Studios and managing 20 people. At this time, one of Nicolas’ friends decided to begin a social media website called Papo de Bicho to connect pet owners to pet care professionals, and Nicolas soon found himself becoming a partner in the venture.

Early in 2012, Nicolas and his partner decided to shut down Papo de Bicho, and soon after, joined Parafernalia's team to help them developing cutting-edge web applications in Ruby, Python, Javascript, and PHP.

In 2015 he decided to jump back on the (startups) train, and joined Onyo, helping them to develop their platform and microservices, mainly using Python, Django and Falcon.
