Hello, my name is Neil Galivan.
I’ve been editing video as a hobby for 11 years, and throughout that time, I've worked two different internships as a video editor, as well as 5 college courses on video editing. I am currently looking for an entry-level job, and I can make a great contribution to any company that needs someone to help create compelling video content.
I was introduced to video editing when I attended Lyons Township High School, and I took a course in TV production that involved working in the school's TV station, LTTV. There I learned how to edit video, and learned how to do it effectively, combining graphics, text, stills, sound effects, music and other elements with the video.
I worked as an intern editing interviews for the sports news and interview network Fightlete for over a year. The company covers news related to MMA, wrestling, and boxing. They also interview figures and fighters in these sports. Another internship I worked involved editing videos for a self-help app K'Bro, for the company YouROK.
I’ve taken 5 different video editing classes during college. One was at College of DuPage, and the other 4 were at DePaul University. Throughout those courses I learned how to edit different types of visual media. In 2023 I graduated from DePaul University with my Bachelor’s degree (Cum Laude), and would like to further apply my skills with more challenging work, so that I may consistently improve at creating engaging and well-presented content.
I hope what I present to you in my demo reel is appealing, and I am confident that I will be useful and effective in any work I do for your organization.
