I am a Nakawe (Saulteaux) from Ditibineya-ziibiing (Rolling River First Nations) who
has lived/worked within various traditional/non-traditional Indigenous communities
and have worked off-reserve liaising with students and Indigenous resources and in
urban, rural, remote and isolated communities in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut,
Ontario and Quebec, Saskatchewan, Alberta, etc. I am knowledgeable in the various
approaches of cultural protocols, formal and informal of Indigenous communities
that resulted in successful relationships/negotiations between Indigenous and
Federal/Provincial governments in past community program developments. I have
an in-depth knowledge of Indigenous political institutions and service delivery
organizations at community, provincial/territorial, and national/international levels
that may be useful when building relationships and engaging Indigenous communities
in Canada.
