I previously worked at Medz Trucking as an Operations Manager for almost 5 years. As an Operations Manager, my tasks include provides inspired leadership for the organization, make important policy, planning, and strategy decisions. I also develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures and assist HR with recruiting when necessary. I help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale, oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing. I also work with senior stakeholders and ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
Work with the board of directors to determine values and mission, and plan for short and long-term goals. My tasks also include identifying and addressing problems and opportunities for the company. I have built alliances and partnerships with other organizations and support worker communication with the management team.
Prior to that, I worked for Navasartian Festival and Games as an Executive and Personal Assistant to the CEO for almost 7 years. This showcase event organized by Homenetmen Western USA are the Navasartian Games. Launched in East Los Angeles in 1975, now it boasts the participation of 300 teams, 3,200 athletes, 1,100 scouts and attracts over 35,000 spectators over a period of eight weeks each year. The games culminate on the weekend of the Fourth of July, with a festival and an elaborate closing ceremony featuring the collective family of Homenetmen athletes, scouts, parents and volunteers from the 18 chapters in the Western US. With the participation of over fifty local businesses and organizations in the food and games booths of the festival, the Navasartian Games are more than just a Homenetmen event. These games have a special place in the heart of the community and feature all that is right with the community. After all, these activities are geared towards keeping the youth away from negative influences. By participating, they become involved in family and community-oriented activities.
As an Executive and Personal assistant, I help the CEO run the company smoothly. I perform mostly administrative duties and clerical duties. I arrange conference calls and meetings, make travel arrangements, compose correspondence, review memos and reports, conduct research, create presentations and prepare statistical reports. I have more general office duties as well, such as organizing and maintaining files, answering phones, purchasing supplies and operating office equipment. I also train and supervise other staff members.
