Coordinate trainings and activities in east Kentucky for emergency response partners through the EKPTC. Establish a central location for dissemination of information relating to workshops, trainings, conferences and meetings that are relevant to emergency responders. Review all county Tab Q Ts and ensure that all state required information is addressed. Provide emergency responders with a public relations toolkit that has information they can share with the public on specific hazardous substances in their county. Serve as a communication liaison to local, state and federal officials for Kentucky Emergency Management as directed by General Heltzel. I have an established network that includes all county judge executives, state legislators and congressional members and staff. Serve as part of the KYEM marketing team and work with state partners on sharing information about KYEM programs and projects. Established first congressional earmark program administered through KYEM for flood mitigation programs. This funding provided over 2.5 million dollars in flood mitigation projects. Worked with the Corps of Engineers and Department of Water to facilitate a levee summit with all levee partners. Served in a leadership role for the Governor's Emergency Management Workshop, 2009. Conference attendance was over 700 participants. Assisted with coordinating the 1st Annual KYEM Weather Conference. Provide regular monthly articles for agency newsletter. Serve as the LRC and Governor's Office constituent service contact for KYEM. Have responded to over 2000 constituents to date on behalf of KYEM. Serve on the State Mitigation Grant Review Team. Serve as the conference coordinator for KYEM. I seek out conferences, presentation opportunities and other venues for KYEM staff to present about agency initiatives. Speak, train and present on behalf of Leadership when needed. Visit grant sites for review of work and complete sub-grant monitoring forms in accordance to FEMA guidelines- City of Paintsville/Paintsville Tourism 100 Staves Branch Road, Paintsville, KY 41240 General Manager Worked directly with local, regional, state and national tourism partners to promote tourism in Paintsville/Johnson County. Managed tourism office and provided effective leadership to staff. Facilitated and participated in the planning and building of the 'U.S. 23 Country Music Highway’ Museum. A two-million-dollar project. Facilitated and participated in the planning and building of the 'In the Pines' Amphitheater. A two hundred and fifty-thousand-dollar project. Created employee evaluation process that became a model for other tourism offices. Created and facilitated a tourism action plan with intervals of one year, three years and five years. Established a network with tour bus operators and coordinators in four other states producing an increase of over 20% in tourism and economic growth for fiscal years of 2005, 2006 and 2007. Evaluated the effectiveness of the 1850's Mountain Homeplace and revised the interpretations and uses of the farm. This increased the revenue and use of the Homeplace by over 30% each year. Established and facilitated numerous events throughout the year increasing regional tourism to Johnson County. Created a community involvement initiative that incorporated the community in tourism activities. This increased community involvement and support by 1 00%. 1997 – 2 003 Kentucky Dept. of Education/Region 8 Service Center 100 Resource Drive, Prestonsburg, KY 41653 Parent Liaison Trained over 2000 participants in communication skills. Wrote and was funded to hire six parents to work in six schools to promote parent involvement in the area of reading comprehension. Coordinated/facilitated Parent Connection Yearly Conferences. First year attendance was 150 parents. By the third year, average attendance was 275 parents. Worked with fifty Family Resource Youth Service Center Directors on developing job skill trainings for parents. Assisted three school districts and one non-profit organization in writing various grants, all have received the proposed grant funding in excess of five million dollars. Created an email distribution list of over I 000 and share information pertaining to education and other areas of interest to parents and community members in Eastern Kentucky. Presented several professional development workshops to educators and educational partners. Served on the state review Standards review audit team. Served on the state Women's Commission reviewed, studied and helped to provide a report to the Governor addressing issues facing women in state government. - Kentucky Dept. of Education/Region 8 Service Center 100 Resource Drive, Prtslonsb11rg, KY 41653 Administrative Specialist Ill/Acting Assistant Director Managed and supervised Regional Service Center office. Acted as proxy to Service Center Director at various workshops and meetings. Acted in the role of public relations officer communicating with districts, schools, parents, and colleges the benefits of the Kentucky Education Reform Act. First point of contact for consultants. Worked with consultants to establish training opportunities, answer questions concerning school-based decision making and established contact between consultants and district/school personnel. Established a network of community points of contact outside of education. Example: Mountain Comp Care, Social Workers, Kentucky State Police. Through this network, more providers were able to link their services to education and vice versa. Established and set up Region 8 Service Center.
