WORK EXPERIENCE
Data Analysis
Perform trend analysis, forecasting and performance analysis using Excel functions and SPSS on various research data, financial market data and banks financial data and represent the data to aid the management in making decision regarding the direction the institution should take.
Product Development, Pilot, Monitoring and Rollout
Involved in product design of a number of product for the bank including solar and clean cooking stoves in Clean and Renewable energy portfolio, Apiculture, agri assets and Tea farming credit line in the agribusiness value-chain financing and Water purification solution in WASH portfolio.
Involved in pilot training of the above products, Monitoring and evaluation and rollout to ensure their success in the institution product basket and ensure the field staffs are well informed and understand the how to solve any problem that might arise.
Research
Involved in Dairy, poultry, aquaculture and sorghum value-chain research in the broad agribusiness finance in Meru, Kisumu, Mombasa and Tharaka Nithi counties. This research was to inform the bank identify areas, which it can plug in, how it can engage with various players in the chain and where it can be profitable for both the bank and the customers, how to design suitable product and how best to offer savings and credit products to this areas in the value chain.
Also, involved in WASH Market assessment research to help the bank review its current product in the portfolio, come up with additional relevant products ensuring all the populations are included throughout the country, and maximize the benefits to both the customers and the bank.
Every quarter, I conducted mystery shopping in different financial institutions to identify what the competition is doing and identify emerging trends in the financial market and advice the management on which trends to adopt and how to review the products offered by the bank to be able to compete well in the market.
Conduct Research on financial market and various products to be introduced to the customers ensuring the product meets the need of the customers, have necessary certification meeting the required standards and the companies are legally registered.
Prepare survey tool, carry out surveys, analyze the data both qualitative and quantitative and interpret for the management decision
Innovations
Participated in coming up with digital loan product design and process flow and involved in pilot, monitoring, evaluation, and rollout of the same in the entire bank network.
Involved in digitization of group loan processes, which will offer customers efficiency and convenience when applying for credit facilities in the bank.
Social Impact Study
Participate in Social Impact surveys of Financial Inclusion of Women in Marginalized Areas in Kenya conducted in Tana River, Isiolo, Turkana and West Pokot counties. The study was to ascertain the impact of the bank to women in these counties and how best to tailor make products suitable for them.
Customer Service
As a Business Development officer my work entailed meeting the customers on a daily basis hence providing them exceptional customer service, solving any problems, improve operations they might have and advise them on various savings products and credit lines offered by the bank.
Partnership
Meet various partners who are interested in working with the bank to provide various solutions to the customers. The meeting involved visiting the partner offices, their customers and undertake due diligence ensuring they are legally registered and on the products they are proposing to offer and later sign partnership agreements.
Staff training
Conducted staff training on LPG, water purifier, solar, cook stoves, apiculture, M-loan and Micro assets product design, process flow, product need, marketing ideas and identification of the market.
This activity involved coming up with training content, budgeting, plan and organize for the training and training delivery for business development operations
