Liaison with Pakistan Stock Exchange - psx regarding Listing Regulations and on other issues. • BOOK KEEPING AND ACCOUNTING Supervision of Accounts Department of Modaraba, its brokerage house and its Management Company. Supervision of accounts closing process and signoff pre/post closing checklist. • Supervision and coordination with the segments for accounts matters. • Supervision of reconciliation of recorded financial data with clients. • Updating of Accounting policies and procedures. • Preparation of financial statements in accordance as per requirements of the regulators and related Ordinance and directives issued by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) together with and approved IFRS and IFRS as applicable in Pakistan. • • Keeping track of off-balance sheet items. Finalization of periodic and annual accounts. • ▪ ▪ RECEIVABLES AND PAYABLE MANAGEMENT Receivables Management includes effective control over accounts receivable made on accounts. Receivables Management through track customer’s records. Regular interaction and co-ordination with Credit and Recovery Departments and compliance to internal and external auditors regarding receivable management. Provides managerial and operational leadership for the Accounts Payable team for day-today activities such as processing payments, resolving suppliers/customers inquiries and managing ongoing monthly activities e.g. month end accruals, reconciliations, etc. Hands on processing as needed. Setting the strategy for Asset and Liability Management, putting in place policies and procedures for effective ALCO management and reporting. Implementing an assets and liabilities strategy (gapping) that optimizes the company’s return, in accordance with the ALCO’s guidelines/recommendations. Strong knowledge of balance sheet management. AUDITS/ CERTIFICATIONS Coordination with statutory auditors in respect of Modaraba’s half yearly/ & annual audits, system audit of brokerage house. Coordination for obtaining certification from external auditors for regulators. Responding to the Management Letter issued by the external auditors. Follow up of IFRS and Companies Ordinance Disclosure and other requirements. Financial Statement underlying schedules compilation. Coordinator of Internal Audit. TAXATION Coordination with tax consultant for preparation and finalization of annual tax returns of Modaraba and its Management Company as well as its associated concerns. Authentication/supervision of e-filling of annual tax returns/ annual and quarterly statements of WHT and sales tax. Dealing with tax matters relating to Company’s employees. Coordinating with tax consultants for taxation matters (including day to day tax issues, obtaining tax opinions, assistance in the preparation of appeal documents and other matters). Ensure timely withholding tax payments. IT Support • Supporting in managing & monitoring IT Projects and Resources as a financial advisor. • Identifying current and potential IT requirements. • Managing IT Assets (Hardware / Software) and fixed assets cost. • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
