I am an experienced full stack Ruby developer, a tech enthusiast, a self-starter,
summary
agile, and great problem solver.
I have a great passion for coding and developing. I have been coding all my
adult life, developing, learning, and collaborating. Now am ready and looking
forward to committing to a full-time job with a forward-looking team that will
help me grow.
I am a versatile developer, able to work with different technologies. Primary
back-end language is ruby but familiar with python too, and front-end languages
are JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
I am fluent in English and able to communicate very well with native English
speakers. I have access to a stable 4G Internet and over a year of experience in
remote work.
I connect and communicate very well with different people from different
cultures. A skill I have developed through my experience working with several
developers and distributed teams from different countries through my remote
work.

Experience
I discovered coding seven years ago in 2012 when I joined a computer science
diploma program which I finished in 2013. Short-after that I created a primary
school grading system that automated the grading process saving time and
resources for teachers. Technologies used were c#, .net frameworks and access.
Sold to seven different schools.
In 2014 I enrolled in a computer science bachelors program which ended in July
2018. In 2016 though, I started freelancing with local companies developing and
creating software products. During this time, a major accomplishment I am most
proud of was the development of an attendance management system for a
local beer company that pays its workers based on the number of days
worked in a month.
In June 2017 I joined the government in the ministry of education and sports
as an IT and systems administrator for six months as a requirement for my
university internship. In this role, I was able to propose a database
management system to move from the then-current system of a spreadsheets filing system. The proposal was approved and I was part of the team of
five sourced to develop it. My main contribution was in the back-end because
it’s my experience with the data we were working with. The main tech used here
was ruby on rails, Postgres for the back-end, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Jquery for the front-end.
After my Internship and University commitments in 2018, I founded a group of
six developers and we called it CJM-bytes.com. We had a little over five great
months together. This time together taught me a lot, from the projects we
worked on to the leadership skills, collaboration and so much more.
Currently, I am part of a team developing a web property management
system for an East-African real-estate company scheduled to end in August
2019. My role here is mainly in the back-end and testing. Main tech we are
using is ruby on rails and JavaScript.
I am a very passionate developer and coding is the best way I spend my time.
