10 Tips to Lose Weight this New Year without Spending a Penny
Do you aim to lose weight this New Year?
If you Google ‘tips to lose weight’, you’d find around 5 million results. Some would claim to help you shedding your weight in days, and some would offer a strict diet routine.
Where almost all those tips are useful. But they might not work on you.
It's a fact that not everything is for everybody. What stands ideal for others, might not even work a bit for you. It doesn't mean that you can't lose weight. You just have to look for another way.
I, too, was following the wrong tips to lose weight. Some suggested a gym is a place for me. Some asked to try the weight losing herbal tea. And some recommended on going vegan. But, I knew these weren't my ways to adapt.
So, I came up with another way. A way that doesn't involve spending huge bucks nor making me go vegan (I just love meat).
Anyone can follow the weight loss tips I followed and start shedding that extra pound. BUT, if you're looking to lose weight fast, you don't wanna go ahead. These tips to lose weight requires your patience, only.
Change Your Diet Habits
Drink Water, a lot
Did I hear “winter”?
Yes, it’s hard to drink water during the winter. It's also the easiest way.
According to researchers, drinking 2 liters of water during a day is one to reduce weight. I know this is tough, and during the winter you’d find yourself spending a lot of time in the loo.
Okay, let’s make it easier:
First, don’t jump to 2 liters at once. Start slow. Let your body get used to this quantity and then start increasing the intake.
Second, heat your water before drinking.
(Advice: don’t use your microwave to heat up the water. Heat it on a stove, store it in a flask, and then pour it in your glass as you drink).
Water doesn’t only help in reducing weight, it does a lot good to your body.
Don’t Skip Food
Skipping food or a tough diet control habit is not a way to lose weight. It does a lot bad than good.
Time is tough today. We have too much to do or we'd be left alone. And this makes us skipping our meals. And the worst part, we skip the most importance meal of the day - breakfast.
'Break the fast' - this meal serves various pluses which we don't know or don't want to know. In simple terms, breakfast must never be skipped.
It’s alright if you eat 2-times a day. But this, again, should be done correctly:
Don’t skip your breakfast. Breakfast shouldn’t be delayed. You must have it within the next 30-minutes from getting up.
Lunch isn’t a compulsive meal, you can skip it if you’d like to. But dinner, no-no! Even if you don’t feel like having it, you still gotta eat. Though, you can reduce the quantity.
If you eat 3-times a day, just reduce the quantity of every meal. But, don’t do it suddenly.
Add a Meal
I know it’s difficult to stay away from food. And I talked of a 2-times meal.
There’s a good news, though, for all those food lovers like me – add a meal to your eating habits
When you’re working hard, you feel hungrier. And when you get a chance to eat your meal, you double the size. Not a good routine.
To help you keep up with your food habit and also losing weight, there’s one old method:
Reduce a certain quantity of food from your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and;
Add a new small meal to your eating routine.
The overall quantity shouldn’t be reduced but only spread over 4-times.
Don’t Bring the Meal, Cook it!
With so much to eat out, we’re stepping away from our homemade food. Now, we prefer to eat out. Even if it fills our tummy, it still can’t beat our own home cooked food.
If you can’t leave it, at least make a plan of eating out. For example, if you eat out 3-times a week reduce it to one. And slowly, but steadily, make it to once a month.
Avoid Processed Food
Bring a processed food, prepare it within 15 minutes, and have your dinner. Is this what you have been doing? If yes, you need to stop thinking processed food.
If you learn the way it’s prepared and preserved, you definitely would stop eating it. But since we’re too occupied, we can’t find the hidden truths. Or we don’t want to.
Healthy or not, processed food is never a good idea to have a healthy meal. It’s also expensive!
Avoid Soda
Soda isn't an alternative for water. We merely take them for their differing taste. But what good a taste is if it isn’t offering us any good?
Soda is a form of a processed food. It isn't hygienic and includes elements in quantities we don't need. And since you’re trying to lose weight, you don’t want this to be a part of your food.
There are too many healthy and mouth-watering beverages. The ones you’d prepare on your own or could order from a nearby café or a restaurant.
And today, we have the detox drinks, energy drinks, and shakes which really shake our bodies in a good way. So why need to have a soda?
Avoid Fat
When trying to reduce weight, we often quit the healthy food intake. Milk is one of them.
Although, a pure milk includes fat which isn’t good when trying to lose weight. But you can try the fat-free milk!
Just like milk, there are alternatives to every food containing fat. Enjoy all the food, with a healthy replacement.
Physical Activities
Now that we’ve learned how’d we reduce our weight following a healthy diet, it is time to go physical.
Do it Yourself
Thirsty? Go and bring the glass of water yourself.
Who’s at the door? Go and check it yourself.
There are many such activities which we put on other’s shoulders and don’t move a muscle. Activities like these aren’t going to help you in losing weight. They’re advised to keep you active.
Use your Legs
The healthiest time we usually have is our childhood time. We play, we run, and we walk. But as we grow up to be an entrepreneur, we find it time-consuming to reach our office on foot.
It isn’t easy to be an entrepreneur, especially when you’re getting started. But only a healthy life would help you succeed.
Try to have a walk 30-60 minutes in a day. It doesn’t have to be in a row. Break it in small interval and spread it over the day.
Go a Little Hard
Since you intended to lose weight this New Year, you’ll have to add some activities in your life. Get up early, go out on a morning walk, and have a little cardio.
Again, don’t be tough on yourself. Take it slowly. Start with, let’s say, 5 minutes. Increase the number each day and try to make it 35 minutes by the end of a month. Sounds troubling? Ok, add 30 seconds each day and make it up to 20 minutes.
The key is to keep up your activity running and growing.
