An innovative and highly competitive wordsmith with a knack for online content, copyediting, and working one-on-one with students and small businesses. My imagination has been working in overdrive for years as I strive to find the right words for what people struggle to express.
As a freelance writer, editor, and language consultant in Canada, I figured my Hons. BA in Communication Studies would lead toward social media, digital marketing, and other overly hipster terms. I just wanted to work with words without having to use the word 'hashtag' as frequently as I use semicolons.
A year after relocating to Cairo and working as Senior/Copy Editor for a publication that's part of a digital media agency, I use hashtags relentlessly, identify as a bohemian twentysomething digital nomad, and have an ever-growing love affair with the Oxford comma. It's funny how life changes in your twenties.
It doesn’t stop at editing articles or writing website copy, though. I have this nearly poetic love for telling stories and helping others discover that their stories are worth telling. I want to invest my energy into doing what makes me want to get out of bed even when the covers are warm and it's cold outside: expressing essence through words and stories. I’m invested in this truth that every person is a culmination of stories, and part of what I do is help them tap into and express that element of who they are through words.
