Personal Statement – Muhammad Sulaiman Barekzai
My name is Muhammad Sulaiman Barekzai, a highly motivated individual with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Kardan University, Afghanistan. I have always believed that education, combined with real-world experience, is the key to shaping a better future—for myself and for the communities I serve. Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have consistently pursued excellence and innovation, not only in engineering but also in leadership and entrepreneurship.
Over the years, I have been privileged to lead and manage multiple construction and logistics projects across Afghanistan. As the head of the logistics company Omran Karwan, I was responsible for receiving, executing, and completing government contracts. These projects included the construction of four-story buildings, sidewalks, and other essential infrastructure. Each contract taught me valuable lessons in project management, negotiation, and team coordination under challenging conditions.
In addition to my engineering and logistics background, I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit. I have owned and operated a clothing store and worked in tailoring and clothing design. These business ventures helped me develop commercial awareness, financial management skills, and a deep understanding of customer behavior. Living in Dubai has also broadened my global perspective, helping me understand how international markets and trade systems operate.
My academic journey did not end with my bachelor's degree. I also completed the OTHM Level 7 course in Dubai, conducted entirely in English, which strengthened my analytical and communication skills in an international context. Now, I am applying for a master’s degree in fields such as Engineering Systems & Management or International Transport, Trade, and Logistics to deepen my knowledge and open new horizons in global business and development.
