EXPERIENCE
Senior Data Scientist (Team Lead)
Handwai GmbH
Apr 2020 - Present
½ Wittlich-Land, Germany
Building a platform to automate the handcraft’s men business offering processes using state-of-the-art Natural
Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning. Our
platform on boards customer data (legal contractual requirements documentation for construction of buildings)
in heterogeneous formats, parse it and manage data structurally in Data lakes to later build analytic pipelines for text
analysis. Often, these contractual documents has discrepancies leading alot of problems for the handcraft’s men in
the building process. This lead to loss of millions of euros
to handcrafter companies. Analysing such documents manually is time consuming. We thus provide a software solution that does the automated text analysis to yield risk, potential and report the calculation of risks for that project.
Hence, saving millions of Euros to those businesses.
Role
• As a team lead, managing the Data, frontend and back-end
teams - Team Lead.
• Planning and devising the software architecture and decisions
regarding the infrastructures - Solution Architect
• Building an AI-based solution for automated identification risks
and vulnerabilities in the legal tenders and calculation of the
projects based on wholesaler’s offerings - Data Scientist.
• Contributing in development of microservices for the platform
- Backend Developer.
• Also, contributing in development of Frontend components.
• Planning, development and maintaining the product KPI’s and
the product journey - Technical Product Owner
• Assisting in the hiring process of new team mates as a technical
member in the interview panels - Team building.
A Multi-modal approach to Named
Entity recognition in Microblogs

The master thesis is the contribution towards NER systems targeting the noisy data
in particular and the approach is to experiment with attention models. Much of the
improvement has been brought in the last
years in NER systems for formal texts and
documents. However, there is still enormous
improvement required for such system if the
text is informal in nature, for example, microblogs. Microblog data often have huge
amount of noise as it lacks implicit linguistic
formalism. For the aforementioned reason,
my exploratory work deals with the use of
deep learning models to try improve on such
data. And we have developed novel architectures by not only considering the information coming from the text, also, from the
images. Our proposed models significantly
improve on the noisy data as compared to
the current state-of-the-art on underlying
data. For instance, I am considering as the
common case of Twitter posts. The datasets
we are using is WNUT (2016/2017).
