EMPLOYEE’S CODE OF CONDUCT
You are expected to observe and comply with the company’s code of conducts, rules and regulations and ethical standards at all times.
Respect in the workplace
All employees should respect their colleagues. We won’t allow any kind of discriminatory behaviour, harassment, or victimization. Employees should conform with the equal opportunity in all aspects of their work, from recruitment and performance evaluation to interpersonal relation.
Use of Language:
The Organization expects its employees to conduct themselves in a businesslike manner; the use of vocal languages, abusive words, swearing, fighting, drinking, gambling, and similar unprofessional activities are strictly prohibited while on the job.
Professionalism
All employees must show integrity and professionalism at all times and level in the workplace.
Personal appearance
You are expected to dress formally and decently to work at all time. Female staff are to avoid wearing of skimpy wears and exposing and/or revealing of sensitive parts of the body. The male staff should be well shaven and look decent in their appearance. On specified day, you would be on the customized wears and as well as dress down on Fridays.
Absenteeism:
For one reason or the other you absented yourself from work, it is expected that you notify the Management on the reason for your absence duly. Absenteeism must be justifiable and without notice will be penalized.
Pension policy:
After due confirmation, you will be required to contribute 8% of your basic salary, transport and housing allowance to pension administrator while the company will also remit 10% to your pension administrator. This will be deducted and remitted on your behalf using the organization Pension Custodian (ARM).
Hours of work:
The working hours spans from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Mondays to Fridays. However, it will be expected that extra hours and/or SATURDAY at times may have to be put in as the exigencies of your job demand.
Lunch Time:
The official Lunch time is slated between the hours of 12noon -12:30 p.m. However, the Kitchen has being provided and made accessible for your Lunch Period.
Referees:
Your appointment is subject to receipt of two (2) satisfactory references and not any member of your relative with an attached Passport and I.D Card
Period of notice: (Termination/Probation)
The first three month of employment will be considered a probationary period. However, after the 3 month has elapsed and have been reviewed by the Management, your probation period may be extended and/or terminated after due evaluation; during which either party will be required to give two weeks written notice of intention to terminate the employment contract while on probation else, salary in lieu will be applied. Upon confirmation, One month written notice must be given else salary in lieu will be applied.
During your stay with the organization, you must have worked for at least 2 years with the organization before you are eligible for any leave whatsoever,, else your appointment may be terminated immediately without any notice nor applicable salary in lieu (Peculiar to the female Staff).
Leave/Maternity Leave:
You are entitled to a leave period during the December festive period and also on public Holidays as directed by the government.
Maternity Leave will be given for a period of 3months with pay on the notification of the child’s birth to the organization. You will also be entitled to close at an early time for a period of 1 month after your maternity leave expires and this is dependent on the agreed time with your Supervisor/Management.
Staff Self-Appraisal and Evaluation:
Quarterly, the organization deems it fit to self-evaluate its staff to justify their efforts to the organization’s productivity and profit maximization. Based on this, the organization holds the right to its decision about the staff.
Sexual Harassment:
Employees must not engage in sexual harassment or conduct themselves in a way that could be construed as such, for example, by using inappropriate language, keeping or posting inappropriate materials in their work area, or accessing inappropriate materials on their computer.
Lateness:
Lateness will not be condoled. If a staff is said to be persistently late to work, decision will be taken for certain amount and/or equivalent amount to be deducted from the staff monthly salary. However, lateness more than 3 times within a month will not be tolerated and also penalized except for cogent reasons accepted by the organization.
Protecting company assets.
Employees should always act to protect company assets, including physical, intellectual, and electronic or digital properties and should not be taken out of the organization without due authorization.
Confidentiality:
At some point, you might be exposed to confidential information, Staff is not allowed to disclose any classified or exclusive information to anybody without authorization. Staff who have access to or are in control of such information should at all times provide adequate safeguards to prevent its abuse or misuse. Examples of misuse include disclosure of information in return for monetary rewards or use of information for personal interest. It should also be noted that unauthorized disclosure of any personal data may result in a breach of the applicable legislation on privacy.
Relationship with Clients and Dealings with Others:
We won't all agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for disrespectful behavior. We will all experience frustration from time to time, but we cannot allow that frustration become personal attacks. Differences of opinion and disagreements are mostly unavoidable. Respect is reciprocal irrespective of differences.
Disciplinary actions/Sanctions
Our company may have to take disciplinary actions against employees who repeatedly or intentionally fail to follow our code of conduct. Disciplinary actions will vary depending on the violation. Possible consequences include: Warnings, Demotion, Reprimand, Suspension or Termination for more serious offenses, Detraction of benefits for a definite or indefinite time etc.
We may take legal action in cases of corruption, theft, embezzlement, or other unlawful behaviour.
Compliance with the Code:
It is the personal responsibility of every staff member to understand and comply with the Code of Conduct.
