Jul’19 – Mar’20: Consumer Behaviour Patterns When Selecting Digital Payment Modes
An empirical study to find and analyse the factors involved & determine any consistent patterns in the relationships
between factors, intentions and behaviours using RStudio and Regression Models.
o Using Focussed group discussions and cluster sampling to collect data from people of different age groups, economic
statuses, educational background, etc., four dependent variables were selected:
1. Ease of Use | 2. Security | 3. Transaction charges | 4. Incentives.
o Using multiple linear regression diagnostics for outliers, normality, multi-collinearity, etc, and decision tree analysis
& ANOVA table, following conclusions were made:
▪ Age, Education and Security have a significant effect (along with Annual Income with a marginal
significance) on the choice of payment (Cash or Digital).
▪ Gender, Education, Transaction charges and Annual Income have a significant effect (along with Age
with a marginal significance) on the choice of digital payment (Apps or Card).
