I have been an accountant/bookkeeper for more than two years now, and I use QuickBooks Online and Xero.

My 2 greatest strengths are 1) I am detail oriented. It is very important to have the eye for details when working with digits. Identifying errors or discrepancies minimizes waste of time and resources: and 2) I’m great at time management. To provide timely and relevant reports, it helps one to know how to prioritize and delegate tasks. With these strengths, it helps me to possess organizational and communicative skills.

My common tasks involve recording and correctly categorizing or matching transactions, reconciling bank and credit card account, both business and personal accounts. I handle accounts payable; I take note of the payment terms to make sure the bills are paid at least a day before the due date. I manage the accounts receivable, where I send emails to my client’s customers to remind them of their invoices. I also oversee the revenues and expenses that they are correctly entered in the accounting software, so we can provide a timely, reliable and relevant reports. Aside from that, I also check Balance Sheet every now and then, especially the cash and banks part to ensure it is consistent with the data provided. I also had the opportunity to create charts to compare projected and actual earnings for decision-making using Microsoft Excel.
