A passion for clarity and attention to detail are characteristics that have helped me to excel as a writer, editor, and proofreader. Clarity starts with good client communication. Understanding the most important aspects of any project is paramount to producing effective writing that emphasizes the most important points of any project.

I have developed and practiced my writing / editing / proofreading craftsmanship in a number of professional positions. I spent over ten years as a technical writer documenting business processes and products, and prior to that as a geologist writing reports and proposals. During my years as a technical writer, I also revised and edited documentation. I have also worked with authors in an editing and proofreading capacity in both fiction and nonfiction. My fiction areas of interest are: mysteries, action-thrillers, literary novels, and historical novels, and my nonfiction subject areas are: art and culture, history, economics and politics, self-help books, and personal memoirs

No writer wants their creative efforts marred with errors in punctuation, grammar, formatting, or awkward phrasing. To protect the writer’s creation, I am extremely diligent about examining and re-examining the final text until the writer / author is happy with it and convinced that his or her writing project will be delivered to readers with the highest possible quality.
