Michelle Mac Pherson

I attended The University of Pretoria, where I studied Commerce majoring in Marketing Management. Throughout my time at University I worked as a radio presenter at the campus radio station TuksFM 107.2, where I had to prepare content for shows (features, games, interviews, music quizzes), produce my own shows, run the advertising for various companies and MC at various events. I also worked as a promoter and a sales consultant at Patio Warehouse.

Thereafter I took a gap year to work at Vail ski resort in Colorado and as a teacher in Thailand for 7 months.

I pursued my career in Marketing after returning from Thailand as the Marketing Coordinator and Graphic designer for GoneSkiing, Boardriders Aslyum and Afriski Mountain Resort.

My roles included Developing, presenting and maintaining the Strategic Marketing Plan for Afriski Mountain Resort, management of the Resort's Marketing Timeline and assignment of tasks to the marketing team, outsourced agencies, and freelancers, Collaboration with marketing teammates to maintain a consistent brand voice and message across all programs, Communication with the resort management team in regard to marketing and marketing materials, Rolling out marketing campaigns based on the objectives and goals set out in the Strategic Marketing Plan, Designing and send out monthly marketing mailers and Management of CRM and email signatures, Assisting with the organization of winter and summer events held at the resort, the organizing of sponsors, email marketing, graphic design, and event marketing plans and strategy and Developing marketing reports to measure whether objectives are being met.

In 2019, I started my own freelance agency, Creative Bond, having had 4 years of experience as a content creator, digital strategist, marketing coordinator, events organizer, website developer, social media manager and digital specialist.

I saw a gap in the market for marketing brands through engaging, value driven content that I drive organically with a focus on building a community for each client as opposed to flashy adverts that product short-term results.
