Michael M. Gemmell

I have known Mike Gemmell for over 20 years.  He first came to my attention when I was nearing completion of a book on environmental policy, Rational Readings on Environmental Concerns. From the first it was clear he had the ability to understand and expound upon the thematic “big picture” and to express complex ideas with clarity. These characteristics have made it possible for us in our various collaborations to analyze and present complex scientific and philosophic subject matter in a manner that could be understood and utilized not only by scientific peers but also by a lay audience.  As an editor of 35 books I have worked with many professional contributors whose writing proficiencies have varied widely. Some of the many issues I have addressed include logical structure, clarity of expression, the ability to effectively summarize, and proper grammar and punctuation. Through the many years of professional communications and collaborations it has become evident to me that Mike would effectively address all of these elements in an editorial capacity for a variety of subjects; therefore, I highly recommend him to anyone needing editing excellence brought to bear from every aspect of any type of written work.
