Wrote Splunk queries and created dashboards in Splunk and Tableau to report on server
metrics for the Operations Command Center (OCC) team.
Previously the data for these reports was being manually tallied using spreadsheets then
emailed in outlook to the distribution list. I recreated detailed versions of these reports
based on management’s requirements and automated them using Splunk and Tableau’s
scheduling feature in order to automate the process of emailing out the reports as pdfs on
a scheduled monthly basis, reducing hours of manual effort and providing new analytical
insights.
For example, created a dashboard in Splunk to monitor and report server traffic isolation
counts by workflow through the use of advanced Splunk features such as tokens,
drilldowns and time pickers. My manager was able to click on a slice of the pie chart to
get a custom table that appeared below showing the duration, user that performed the
server traffic isolation, reason for isolation and id for that slice which represented the
type of workflow or server(s) that was isolated.
Created dashboards in Splunk to monitor AWS server slice current state (enabled,
disabled or wellness mode) and in Tableau for day and night shift personnel to track
application status along with changes and incidents implemented within 24 hours.
Worked with developers from different teams to manage the Alteryx workflows for the
OCC’s tableau dashboards and to monitor server traffic spikes in Dynatrace.
HCL Technologies
Software Engineer
Client USAA (San Antonio, TX)
May 2019 – September 2019
Development and reporting in SAS, SQL and Python. Querying, retrieving and manipulating
data from credit card and banking databases with terabytes of data.
Verisk Analytics
Oct 2018 – Dec 2018
Data Scientist
•
Data manipulation and querying using SQL Server. API data retrieval. R and
Python programming on commercial insurance-based datasets.
•
Built a random forest regression model in Python to forecast 4-year premium
growth on large insurance-based datasets
•
Built a KNN clustering model in R to help commercial insurers target their
segment market of growing small businesses by zip code
•
Wrote an automation script in Python to automate the comparison of all schema
tables in a database on a column to column basis from current year to previous years saving 16
hours of manual effort
•
Executed data analysis and modeling projects from project/sample design,
reception and processing of data, performing analyses and modeling to final reports/presentations,
communication of results and sales support
•
Utilized advanced statistical techniques to create high-performing predictive
models and creative analyses, that are in compliance with regulatory and privacy requirements, to
address business objectives and client needs.
•
Provided technical sales support, which may include various analyses and the
preparation and presentation of analytical results.
•
Tested new statistical analysis methods, software and data sources for continual
improvement of quantitative solutions. Shared knowledge within the analytics group.
•
From Jan 2016 to Sept 2018 I worked as a private math tutor for Varsity Tutors while taking
college courses at CUNY Queens College.
Lockheed Martin (Contractor for Viper Technology Services)
Jul 2015 – Nov 2015
Java Software Developer
Division: ALIS F-35 Sustainment
•
Detected and resolved code defects involving Spring MVC, SQL (procedures,
views and triggers), JMS etc. in the Squadron Health Monitoring (SHM) application. SHM is a
tracking and monitoring application for part installs, maintenance debrief
and submission of work orders/ service tickets for the aircrafts in the system.
•
Tested and documented software for client applications.
•
Wrote, modified, and debugged software for client applications.
•
Wrote code to create single-threaded or user interface event driven applications,
either stand-alone and those which access servers or services.
•
Used source debuggers and visual development environments.
American Express (Contractor for Syntel Inc.)
Software Developer
Division: Secure File Transfer (SFT)
Jun 2014 – May 2015
•
Involved in troubleshooting and resolution of code defects on applications which are used
to provide file transfer functionality by interacting with each other using message queueing.
•
Worked with clients to resolve file transfer failures between user and recipient on FS
Track and Transmitter Profile applications that transmit files using industry standard protocols
such as FTPS and SFTP.
•
Primarily, java backend development using Spring MVC and Hibernate frameworks.
Projects
• Worked on Deep Learning Image Recognition Projects: Built a convolutional neural network (CNN)
model in Python using the Tensorflow package to detect dog and cat images among 10,000 animal
images.
• Predictive Modelling: Built a XGBoost model in R on bank consumer data to forecast which customers
are likely to leave the bank. This model obtained an accuracy of 86%.
