Country music legend Lacy J Dalton coming to Grass Valley November 14, 2018/in Arts & Culture, Events, Events & Happenings, Grass Valley, Nevada County /by Admin-GNC Country music legend Lacy J Dalton will be gracing the Foothills Event Center stage on December 15 th, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. Dalton is an acclaimed country artist who has been named one of the most recognizable voices in music. She has even been called Country’s Bonnie Raitt by People Magazine. Dalton’s career began in 1978 when she signed with Harbor records as Jill Croston. In 1979, the Academy of Country Music presented her with the award for Top New Female Vocalist of the Year, which prompted her to be signed with Columbia records and launched her into the national scene with her h it, “Crazy Blue Eyes”, written by Dalton and her longtime friend Mary McFadden. The song hit #7 on Country Billboard music charts. Audiences were captivated not only by her music, but her natural stage presence and charismatic performances. As a result she became one of the few women who could open for country mega –stars such as Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Charlie Daniels.
