My name is Mauricio Reyes. I am a freelancer doing business as Typografik which was established in
2005 in the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. I studied graphic design in London, England, Italy and the
United States.
Typografik offers creative solutions across every medium, including print, web and multimedia
graphics. My belief is that design is good only if it fulfills the business needs of my clients and their
customers.
I have over fifteen years of experience in graphic design and visual communications. In addition, I am
fully bilingual (Spanish-English), which can double your audience’s reach in today’s competitive and
diverse markets.

Recent Work Experience
The Smithsonian Institution, National Science Resources Center
Managed the contents and event forms for the National Science Resources Center
corporate website. Created two websites for yearly events: www.laseri3.com
and www.nsrcspi.com. In addition to websites, I created a number of publications
for other divisions and programs of the Smithsonian Institute.
City of Alexandria JobLink
Produced infomercials for Alexandria’s JobLink website using Final Cut Pro.
Designed the entire production and created storyboards which were filmed
and assembled in-house. The result was an infomercial that explains the suite
of JobLink programs to job-seeking candidates. After completion of the infomercial,
the City of Alexandria commissioned brochures and a new agency website.

National Geographic
Designed the poster campaign to promote the series “The Daily of our Planet”
which were displayed in the lobby of the Society’s headquarters in Washington,
D.C., the National Geographic magazine and in D.C.’s public transport system.
The Harrell Center
The Harrell Center's helps victims of family violence. Redesigned the Center’s
identity design and designed a new website. Created a poster campaign to
celebrate the Center’s 10th anniversary.
DC 50 TV (The CW in Washington, D.C.)
Designed a website for CW’s popular event “Fashion Beauty and Lifestyle.
Created the web pages for the Emmy award-winning presentation ”Black History
Month” with Jim Byrne. Provide all photographic services as CW’s photographer.
National Criminal Justice Association
Developed a re-branding strategy for the National Criminal Justice Association
by creating a new corporate identity design, format for print publications web
and print identity guidelines and designed three corporate websites: NCJA, NCJP
(National Center for Justice Planning) and SAVIN.

SMART Technology, Inc. (Creative Director)
October 1997 - October 2004
» Corning Consumer Products Company (CCPC) - Developed an intranet site for the marketing
division of the CCPC. Graphic design, information architecture and Flash animations were created for
this project. A variety of print materials and screen savers were requested by the client as a result of
the website design.
» National Highway Institute - Redesign of an enterprise information portal. Java Scripting, DHTML
coding, and complex Photoshop Illustrations were created for the site.
» U.S. Army Materiel Command (Engineers and Scientists) – Developed website; redesigned existing
imagery, site layout, color scheme and creation of a new interface for the Command’s job search
database.

Awards
Sydney 2000 Olympic Games -- Received a design achievement award from NBC for the use of the ITC
Binary typeface design, which became the official typeface of the Sydney Summer Olympic Games in
2000. ITC Binary was widely used to brand all the media associated with the games and was used by
NBC, Swatch, IBM, and Nike, among others. ITC Binary is sold today by all major type foundries in
America, Asia, and Europe.
