As Online Content Specialist, I create compelling, conversion driven and customer-focused content. Every piece of content is an opportunity to show we are industry experts and to gain customer trust. I achieve this by rejecting “fire and forget” content while trusting both in-house data and emerging online behavioural studies. Mar. 2015 Carphone Warehouse provided me with an environment to become an innovative force within the online team. As Online Commercial and Reporting Executive, I generated various forms of online content, including informative blog posts and optimised product descriptions. To support my content creation, I also developed new reporting methods to provide improved insights into customers behaviour. Sept. 2014 This was my third role within Carphone Warehouse. I also enjoyed time as the company’s Retail Operations and Communications Administrator. This role allowed me to pass my years of retail experience onto the instore teams. Again, within this role I was already forging a reputation for innovation, creating interactive learning guides. Feb. 2014 I am the Founding Editor of Goos3D.ie. I spotted a gap in the market for a consumer tech news site as I was helping customers do things every day. Through Goos3D I have developed a full range of online skills from promoting content on social media to managing contributors. Goos3D also acts as a sandbox for me to trial the latest online services. Today, Goos3D.ie has four passionate content writers with over 11k unique monthly visitors. May 2013 Summer 2012 Summer 2011 Feb. 2005 Sept. 2004 Martin Meany Education Twice graduate from University of Limerick Attended St. Kieran’s College, Kilkenny Started 2012 Upon completing my Bachelor in English and History, I earned a partial scholarship to complete a Masters in History in the University of Limerick. My dissertation focused on the female form as a motif throughout the foundation of the Irish Free State. My research was awarded a First Class Honours. Graduated 2014 – Awarded 1.1 MA History 2008 I had always had a massive interest in language. From a young age, I would write creative fiction, proudly bringing it to school to share with my classmates. This love of language propelled me to study English and History. Here I gained valuable insight into the great works from Joyce to Shakespeare. Still, to this day, I owe much of my creativity to my years studying English and History in the University of Limerick. Graduated 2012 – Awarded 2.1 BA English and History 2010 As part of my Undergraduate study, I spent six months studying International Communications in Hanze University of Applied Sciences. I relished my first opportunity to work in a new country and in multicultural teams. Hanze provided me with a technical insight into how people receive communications, influencing how I create content. I have a unique set of skills ...
