Greetings.
My name is Mark Kaplan. I have been a freelance writer/producer for many years.
I have written and produced video pieces for Encore and Showtime Australia. Stories about celebrities, behind the scenes of classic films, and histories of famous sites in Los Angeles.
I did the research, wrote the scripts, hired the crews, produced the shoots, directed and interviewed the talent, and supervised the post, all on time and on budget.
I wrote and produced a Call to Action documentary for the non-profit Real Medicine Foundation to help raise donations for the supplies and medical assistance they provide around the world after natural disasters. I know how to craft a story for maximum impact.
I created, sold and produced Hollywood’s Best Film Directors, a half-hour biography series about famous feature film directors. I also conducted most of the on-camera interviews. To date over 70 episodes.
I co-produced a feature documentary on a first time director called, Becoming Iconic. I scheduled and interviewed A-list directors about their first times directing.
I recently completed producing a mini-documentary on a beloved waiter at Musso & Frank, the legendary Hollywood restaurant currently celebrating its 100 year anniversary.
I'm also a freelance scriptwriter and script doctor.
As a producer, I love to collaborate and always set a positive tone.
Good ideas can come from anyone.
I have always met deadlines and been on a budget.
And finally, I pride myself on being objective, able to listen and see things from differing perspectives.
