In elementary school, I was assigned a presentation answering the age-old question “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. The result was a hand-drawn logo and business card titled Marissa Hsu – Graphic Designer. Hot pink and bright orange seemed like suitable color choices at the time, while the lettering typeface can only be described as slab serif meets Comic Sans. Although my ten-year-old self had yet to discover the importance of contrast and readability, design has always been my passion.
Nowadays, I prefer technology-based solutions over markers and colored pencils, but my love for what I do remains the same. I've had 6 years of professional design experience specializing in visual communication and user experience design. As a Digital Designer, I take pride in constructing the perfect balance between visually stunning creative solutions and highly-functional usability. My exceptional collaborative and interpersonal skills and dynamic enthusiasm contribute a determined individual effort for the betterment of the whole. After working for a Seattle-based company for three years from various locations around the world, I am experienced with the important communication skills required to work remotely.
