About

I charge U.S. rates.

I’m a versatile editor with 10 years of experience. I love editing books and creative work, as well as working with universities, nonprofits, government agencies, and large, nationwide organizations. I specialize in refining complex content across formats—marketing, academic, journalistic, and institutional—with a focus on clarity, consistency, and strategy.

At Educause, I edited long-form B2B and B2C edtech content, helped manage production for EDUCAUSE Review, and supported the Editor-in-Chief in workflow optimization. I improved content performance across channels by refining structure, enhancing SEO, and advising on style and editorial best practices.

I was also the sole Marketing Editor at Western Governors University (2021 to 2025). I edited more than 500 blog posts, guides, and campaign assets—including web copy, social, email, and print—used nationwide. I helped grow the copy team, mentored writers, and maintained our in-house style guide. I led SEO updates that resulted in hundreds of top-ranking Google pages, directly impacting WGU’s visibility and lead generation. I contributed to national and regional messaging strategy and received training in AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Grammarly) to optimize content development.

My freelance clients have included Kaiser Permanente, Jack in the Box corporate, and the California Secretary of State’s Office, where I’ve edited everything from branded campaigns to election materials and technical reports. I’ve also worked with associations like NAMM and ACSA, startups like EduXYZ, and publishers such as Cognella Publishing and Poetry International. These roles have strengthened my ability to adapt to different tones, audiences, and brand needs.

I bring a strategic mindset to every editorial role—balancing brand voice, reader experience, SEO, and organizational goals. Whether I’m refreshing content for better reach, building out style guides, or collaborating with writers and designers, I aim to make each project sharper, more effective, and more aligned with its purpose.

I hold an MFA in Writing, two B.A.s in humanities, and editing certificates. I’ve also presented, taught, and mentored in both academic and professional settings.
