Currently oversee and manage automated closed captions for up to 30 individual clients at one
time. Duties include unwavering concentration, quick and accurate knowledge and judgement, and
the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks concurrently. Collaboration between multiple
departments and team members is essential to ensure efficient workflow and avoid missed captions
on-air. Also cross trained in the engineering department and frequently expected to communicate
with major networks such as ESPN, Hearst Television, and Bloomberg and troubleshoot various
complex issues while maintaining professionalism and customer service. Data analyzation is
necessary in this role to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Created quality closed captions for live broadcast television that includes U.S. news, C-SPAN, and
Bloomberg. Also provided captions for live private events such as city council meetings and
specialized presentations. Exceptional writing and grammar skills were essential for maintaining a
98%+ percent accuracy rate. Extreme attention to detail, focused listening skills, and quick and
accurate judgements were necessary in this role to create near-verbatim and easy-to-read closed
captions. An understanding of specialized networking and a professional demeanor was also
necessary in this role for setting up connections and communicating with clients.
Realtime Voice Captioner

REMOTE; OCTOBER 2021-SEPTEMBER 2022
Produced professional closed captioning in real time. Frequently live captioned TV news, sports
games and talk shows, and private events such as city council meetings and academic panel
discussions. Accomplished a four-month rigorous training program to learn the software and skills
necessary for this complex position. Regularly conducted independent prep work to provide the
viewer an accurate understanding as well as promote Equal Access. This role also required an
understanding of professional conduct, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills.
Student Employee III
DISABILITY SERVICES AT WESTERN OREGON UNIVERSITY
MO NMOUTH, OR; DECEMBER 2019-JULY 2021
Collaborated with a team of Student Employees in the Office of Disability Services to provide
accessibility to WOU students and patrons. Duties mainly consisted of writing accurate transcripts
and writing/syncing closed captioning for professor’s lecture videos. Also converted textbooks into
alternative (audio or plain text) formats, welcomed students and staff to the office, and assisted them
on the phone to apply for accommodations or other University requests. Was involved in training
four new student employees in addition to organizing and compiling the Student Worker Handbook
for new hires. Demonstrated flexibility and gained considerable communication skills throughout
the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to and from remote work.
