Maria Lourdes Atienza-Ona

I am a seasoned teacher for more than 10 years. I graduated from one of the premier universities in my country, the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, Major in Chemistry, Minor in Mathematics. I was a Department of Science and Technology Scholar and has been nominated as Best Student-Teacher during my college years. I taught Mathematics Algebra 1 and 2, Chemistry and Physics in a secondary private school. After that, I taught Math and Sciences in a Public Junior High School. After 3 years, I transferred to teach in a public senior high school.

I believe that as a teacher, I have to develop professionally and so I decided to take further studies and took a Master's Degree in Educational Management and earned 28 units. Having been qualified as a scholar, I am currently taking a Master of Science in Science Education and have earned 32 units while I work on my thesis which deals with Green Chemistry in Senior High School.

As a teacher, after work hours, I have been tutoring kids of all ages for all subjects including English, Social Studies and Arts. I have also a call center job experience as a broker and a customer service representative. I was at the top of my class when I was in High School, I have been in the Dean's Honors List during my early years in College. I have been joining and winning in competitions for teachers and training students for competitions as well. I have been invited as a resource speaker in School Press Conferences in Campus Journalism as I have been an Editor-in-chief, copyreader and copywriter, and feature article writer in school papers. I was a delegate in a National Competition when I was in Secondary School. I am a fast learner.

I have good communication and interpersonal skills. I am an expert in Microsoft Office Tools such as Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. I am hardworking and a versatile learner and worker. I always put my best foot forward in everything I do.
