Maria Dyck Thiessen

Prior to relocating from California to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I had a long and successful career in business and law, and, more recently, I worked as a performer in musical theatre and taught music and singing.

I became a computer programmer right out of high school, programming Abacus (accounting software). I went on to study business, law and psychology. I became a paralegal and worked in that field for 10 years. I have always possessed exemplary skills in the English language. I was the editor-in-chief for my high school yearbook and poetry publications. I excel in the areas of proofreading and editing; even if I'm not familiar with the subject of which I am proofreading/editing, I can make edits or suggestions for better flow for readers, while (of course) making spelling/grammar/punctuation edits. I will go the extra mile to educate myself on the subject matter so I can be helpful to the author right up until publication.
