MANZOOR AHMED
Daily Dawn, Haroon House, Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road,
Karachi, Pakistan--
My career experience and skills have grown from my education at Pakistan’s prestigious
university in Islamabad, various academic and professional courses in the country and abroad
and employment as a media person and communication manager for a Word Bank project.
I’m a working journalist for the last 24 years and have worked as an individual consultant for the
World Bank from July 2017 till Dec 31, 2018.
During my consultancy services, I was responsible for data collection, writing reports and
internal and external communication for the Reform Support Unit. I created and managed
SELD’s Facebook page and Twitter handle followed by thousands of people, including ministers,
parliamentarians and diplomats. I built this social media platform with hard work and handled it
in a very professional manner.
I also prepared reports and gave briefings to the delegates of the Global Partnership for
Education, a United Nations fund for promotion of education across the globe, who visited
Pakistan for meetings.
I’m a working journalist, writer and blogger currently associated with Pakistan’s largest-circulated
English Daily Dawn in Karachi. My key activities related to the profession include editing,
rewriting and making headlines. So far I’ve written over 200 reports published by the leading
dailies in the country. Prior to Dawn, I was sub-editor at The News (Jang Group of Newspapers)
and reporter at The Frontier Post’s bureau office in Karachi. Most of my reports are data based.

election and later tracking the government performance in collaboration with
INTERMEDIA-Pakistan and Pak Institute for Peace Studies, Islamabad.
Beaconhouse National University
I’ve completed Beaconhouse National University and Rozan’s 6-month ‘Media

problems of people which have kept them in chains for centuries.
