Global Banking & Markets (GB&M) uses different post trade systems for processing fixed income, cash
and securities in different hub sites. These are Treats in LN & HK, Summit in Paris and Impact in NY.
For securities the Fixed Income Architecture Reengineering was initiated as a global program to address
these processing differences with the aim of consolidating global fixed income securities processing in a
single platform. The SPARC delivery is part of overall FIAR program which is Front to back initiative
to implement the Sun guard RIMS fixed income settlement system. The complex requirement to
account for global market product specifically bonds and repos have required the use of specialist tool
in order to apply the desired accounting rules to the GBM transaction data. The Sparc delivery will
replace the legacy TREATS accounting model for bonds and financial trades with strategic accounting
via Finance owned accounting rules engine within SPARC using business events sourced from upstream
FO and BO systems.
Trades for bonds and repos will be processed and standardized and cash schedule will be generated.
Valuations and Position files will be created by Martini for repos and RIMS for bonds and these will be
processed. Settlement messages will be received along with Corporate Actions which are processed for
various events.
