Malisa Mercado

I have worked in numerous fields making me a very well-balanced and multi-faceted worker. I started in customer service nearly 12 years ago bagging groceries in the commissary, utilizing each experience from then after to move onto better opportunities, eventually leading myself into the veterinary industry. There, I worked my way into management positions where I lead a team, created schedules, dealt with disciplinary actions, client relations/deescalation, product ordering, task delegation, etc. From there, I moved into accounting. I have been an accounts payable associate, a fiscal technician working in revenue and a Junior Staff Accountant where I did general bookkeeping and payroll. I have also completed school for Real Estate and exploring my career options there. Currently my role encompasses customer service, administrative services, receivables and light IT work as we lease office spaces to companies and maintain the centers we lease from. I am confident that there is not a job you could put in front of me that I would not excel at.

You will notice I included a lot of writing attributes in my skill set. I became a published poet at the age of 14. Writing has always been a passion of mine, but not something I had previously pursued professionally. I would love to explore this more and can provide samples of some of my personal writings. Also, due to my line of work and my affinity for writing, I am very proficient with many Office programs and other operating systems. I also type an average of 55 wpm and would love to do some transcription or simple typing tasks/data entry.

I am simply looking to broaden my horizons with this scope of hourly/project work and possibly see if there could be a career field I have yet to explore that could be a grand new adventure for me.
