Overview
I have always been a prolific writer and I have had an intellectual fascination with the power of the
form since I can remember. I take pleasure in finding the right combination of words and creating
the perfect sentence within a paragraph. My passion for writing led to my study of a bachelor of fine
arts degree with a focus on creative
writing. My enthusiasm also steered me towards a career as a marketing specialist for a period of
twelve years.
During my first years of employment in the field of marketing, I worked mainly in the production of
hard copy material, brochures, newsletters, flyers, etc. However, as the trend-necessity for digital
marketing increased, I was fortunate enough to complement my abilities by acquiring skills in
website development and graphic design.
I eventually left my position in marketing so I could pursue a career as an author and
screenwriter. However, I continue to utilize my experience to help finance my chosen career path
by offering my services as a freelance writer, graphic designer and Wordpress website developer.

I began my career in marketing by working two years at Planet Perth, a tour company based in
Perth, Western Australia. I was tasked with writing marketing material including web content
brochures and newsletters. I also designed all logos, web promotions, business cards, banners
and flyers.
Investment Bali
Marketing Executive
May 2006 - April 2017
Ten years employed as head of marketing for Investment Bali, an Australian development and
investment company based in Indonesia. My role was centred on online marketing, including
website development, copywriting, content writing and graphic design. However, I also wrote a
monthly newsletter and I utilized my graphic design abilities to create hard copy advertising,
brochures, banners, logos etc.

I have published three books about Bali Indonesia and one novel based in Cambodia under the
pseudonym, Malcolm Scott. I am currently seeking publication for my fifth book, about a murder in
Thailand, with independent publishing house Monsoon Books. I have also written a number of
screenplays across many genres from comedy to political drama to thriller that I am seeking to
have optioned.
