With five years of experience in content writing and copy editing across two industries, I’ve garnered a wide array of experience when it comes to the written word. I got my start in book publishing in 2018 where I worked as a copy editor and writing coach until 2021, helping improve a wide range of texts, from cookbooks to textbooks, from 500+ word fantasy novels to personal memoirs. With each book edited, I also wrote the “flap copy” or that back of the book blurb you read standing in your local Barnes & Noble to decide whether or not a book is worth your time. This copy would end up being used in hundreds of bookstores across the country and in physical and digital advertising.
After my time in publishing, I made the switch to public relations where I’ve been for two years. During my time in PR, I pitched and secured articles in the likes of Hospitality Design and The Wall Street Journal. Beyond pitching, my time in PR afforded me a plethora of writing experience such as SEO-enriched blog posts, award submissions––that ended up as winning submissions––, e-blast copy, and website copy.
With my passion for perfecting words, sentences, and stories, I have no doubt that the next writing project that finds its way to my inbox will be in good hands.
