Professional Experience
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, NOMADX; PORTUGAL, LISBON - 2020
NomadX is a rentals marketplace created to meet the needs of the global community of
remote working travelers and digital nomads. I maintained the company's backend
systems (written in Ruby), designed the platform APIs, payment systems, and operation
tools. I coached other less experienced members of the team.
CTO, ALIADA; MEXICO, MEXICO CITY - 2019
Aliada is a marketplace that connects people with domestic service workers. After a
company split, I restructured the engineering team and rede ned its working culture. I
implemented a design → build → release → validate loop framework, measuring the
value that each release provided to the company.
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER, ALIADA; MEXICO, MEXICO CITY - 2017 - 2018
Initially, I joined the company to maintain the backend systems (written in Ruby). I
helped de ne our API standards, designed some features based on geographic
information systems and spatial analysis. Eventually, I ended collaborating in the
product design of several spin-offs of the company.

I joined a digital innovation team inside the federal government, taking ownership of
one of their projects: Adela, an open data repository that contained all the data
recollected and issued by the government; It was open-sourced and written in Ruby.
CTO, CÚRSAME; MEXICO, MEXICO CITY - 2014
Cúrsame was an e-learning platform, written in Ruby, with social network features. I
joined the company to stabilize the product development and help with the transition
from a previous administration. We participated in several contracts with the federal
department of public education.
SOFTWARE ENGINEER, CITI; MEXICO, MONTERREY - 2011 - 2013
CITI is a technology consulting rm that worked with mobile carriers and telecom
companies. I maintained some highly transactional APIs and mobile web applications
written in Java; those systems received millions of daily requests.
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR, INTERNETWORKS; MEXICO, MEXICO CITY - 2009 - 2010
Internetworks pioneered web hosting services in Mexico. I administrated a wide variety
of UNIX-based systems and developed several monitoring tools in Perl, Bash and
Python, to prevent and warn services' outcomes.
