Louise Andrae Cayanan

My name is Louise Andrae Cayanan, and I am a hardworking and enthusiastic individual with experience working in the retail industry. In the summer of 2024, I had the opportunity to work as a retail associate in Florida, United States, through the J1 student program. This experience helped me grow both professionally and personally, as I learned valuable skills in customer service, teamwork, and communication.

During my time as a retail associate, I was responsible for a variety of tasks that helped the store run smoothly. I worked as a cashier, where I handled customer transactions with accuracy and a friendly attitude. I also assisted with merchandising and inventory, making sure products were well-stocked and displayed neatly. Cleaning shelves and keeping the store organized was also part of my daily routine. I always paid attention to detail and worked hard to make the store a pleasant place for customers to shop.

One of my proudest achievements during this job was being named Employee of the Month. I received this recognition because of my strong sales performance, especially for selling a large number of Disney bags. I enjoyed helping customers find what they were looking for, and I believe my positive attitude and product knowledge helped me succeed in sales. This award made me feel proud and motivated to keep doing my best every day.

This experience taught me how important it is to be reliable, friendly, and professional in a work environment. I learned how to manage my time, solve problems quickly, and stay calm during busy hours. I also enjoyed working with people from different backgrounds and learning about American culture while sharing my own.

Overall, my summer as a J1 student in the U.S. was an unforgettable experience. It gave me the chance to improve my English, gain hands-on work experience, and develop important life skills. I am now more confident in my abilities and excited to take on new opportunities in the future. Whether I work in retail again or try something new, I know the skills I learned will continue to help me grow.
