I have had the opportunity to work as a receptionist and secretary at the imaging department of Sunyani Regional hospital as an intern as well as a teaching, research and administrative assistant for a year at the University for Development Studies as a national service personnel. I currently work as a phone desk secretary and in person assistant in a real estate company. I have always wanted to work as a virtual assistant and also work remotely. Due to this, I have intentionally taken the time to better myself in the area of virtual assistant work by undergoing a nine-week intensive and certified virtual assistance course by ALX Africa. Coupled with my experience as a secretary, I have been able to learn a lot of skills both in theory and also practically. I have perfected my use of google Workspace which involves Google mail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Presentation, and forms. I am a little experienced in the use of Canva and currently working on bettering and improving myself. I am very proficient in the reading and writing of English language. My job as a secretary has taught me a lot on effective communication, active listening, precise and efficient delivery of assigned tasks, as well as interpersonal relationship building. My job puts me in the position where I have to reach out to a lot of clients within a stipulated time frame, and thus I have mastered the skill of SMS blasting, in order to be able to reach out to these huge client base within a short period of time. I am also able to use Microsoft Office efficiently, as I have had the need to type memos, letters to clients and also keep a detailed list of all clients and all required information about them. Being in real estate has also taught me a bit on effective marketing strategies, and proper customer care and relationship.
