I tutor the students who are enrolled in Podii Academy Front-End development, Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development (Rspec, Jasmine, Cucumber), ReactJs, React Native and Mobile Application Development using Flutter. April 2018: Game Developer at UNESCO I was contracted by UNESCO for a month to build traditional games as mobile apps games, using React Native, that were played by kids in the 80’s and 90’s; the games were selected from the 42 tribes in the country. I led the deployment of the apps to Amazon Mobile Services May 2018 – February 2019: Lead Ruby Developer at Sororitie Sororitie is a women’s only booking app that I built using Ruby on Rails yet to be officially launched. I was the lead developer, designed and structured the database using Entity Relational Diagram (ERD), built the back end with Ruby on Rails, enabled search using Elastic Search, to make the site incredibly fast, we used Redis for Caching and integrated payment using Stripe. I am also the one managing their Gitlab account, I merge requests after review, review pull requests. Using TravisCI, deployment happens automatically every time new features are added and they meet the required standards. Jan 2015- April 2017: Freelance Web & App developer. While working at Amazing Kisumu, did freelance web and app development for clients using front end frameworks like Bootstrap, Foundation, React. This helped me build and improve my coding skills and learn amazing frameworks like TypeScript which still amazes me. I convinced small businesses the importance of having a website and application which they embraced. April 2013- Aug. 2016: Intern at Amazing Kisumu. As an intern, I managed their social media pages, created content for the pages and website; I also wrote blogs and managed their then wordpress site. As an intern, my major achievement was making Amazing Kisumu the go to marketing firm. Events Head at Amazing Kisumu. As the events lead, I managed to get authorization from TedX to hold the first TedX Kisumu and permission from YALI to hold the first ever YALI Kisumu. We become the sort most sort after marketing and events company in Kisumu. Operations Officer. As the operations head, I ensured smooth company activities. I initiated projects and gave go ahead on intern projects. I made decisions on which technology to be used on the site through discussions and opinions from the developers that were present. I brought in partners, initiated the transition and built a new Amazing Kisumu website using Ruby on Rails. Being a blog site, we hosted it on AWS, S3 bucket where we saved images.
