Offer sound design coaching, guidance, supervision, instruction and ongoing evaluation and feedback to
graduating sound design students. Duties include providing the students with ongoing professional guidance
with respect to critical thinking, organization, development of relationships, and execution of design for the
production of a two new plays, from pre-production, through the design phase, installation, and technical
rehearsals.
Teaching load included THEATER PERFORMANCE and SHAKEPSEARE TEXT WORKSHOP. Mentored
undergraduate student actors and stage managers through a 12 week production process, with a primary focus
on daily rehearsals, and supplemented with one-on-one and small group tutorials addressing devising and
movement techniques, improvisation, career development, and stage and production management strategies.
Extra-curricular workshops addressed classical text analysis, scansion, heightened language, breathing and
movement techniques, and introduced devising in relation to Shakespearean text. Students were evaluated on
their preparation for and participation in rehearsals, and their creative development over the course of study.
Contributing writer to well-respected independent theater blog, reviewing Off-Off-Broadway, Off-Broadway, and
Broadway theater and performance in New York City. Also provided branding and outreach consultation,
including development of a supplementary podcast focused on promoting Off-Off-Broadway performance and
simplifying the consumer’s process of finding performances of interest within the vast market of New York theater.
Founded VYC which grew to 5 annual productions, produced 2 original works, and contracted 6 visiting
professional artists from across North America. Created Directors Program that saw 5 young artists directing
their first productions. Developed lasting partnership with regional company Theatre New Brunswick, managed
annual operating budget of $100,000 and worked directly with over 100 local performers ages 8-25. Many young
artists who were members of the original company have gone on to successful professional careers in the theater.
