I was a Modern Languages’ secondary school teacher for over 19 years. I have a Master’s in Digital Technologies, Communication and Education with distinction from the University of Manchester. I also possess a certificate in Designing & Facilitating E-Learning through the Open Polytechnic in New Zealand. Additionally, I have a level 1 certification in Flipped Learning. I obtained a distinction in the PG diploma in Education in Teaching of Foreign Languages and possess a first-class honours in B.A. in French/Spanish from the University of the West Indies. I also am a certified Microsoft trainer and I am a CPD trainer also.
I am the Director and Founder of 21st Century Educators, which aims to provide professional development in-person and online for teachers via its Facebook page, webinars, and workshops. I have made links with several ed tech companies to present to my community including Flipgrid, Bookcreator, Parlay, Nearpod, Genially and Peardeck to name a few. I am also the Caribbean Ambassador for Genially. Additionally, I create digital educational resources and e-learning materials such as escape rooms, resource packs for teachers and other learning materials which teachers can adapt and adopt immediately.
I have presented several educational workshops and webinars locally and internationally. I presented at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) in Chicago and American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) in San Diego in 2019. In 2021, I was a panelist at the ICDL’s Caribbean Digital skills conference.
