My name is Lauren Lee and I have a double-degree in Food Science and Journalism. I have about 6 years of experience working with food largely in research and development roles at both small and big companies. I have worked primarily in new retail product development as well as project management roles and commercialization across multiple food platforms including frozen entrées, gluten-free baked products, plant-based proteins, meat snacks, canned tomato products, and private brand center-store cookies focusing on cost-savings and quality improvement initiatives.
In addition, I have structured my career towards professional proofreading, editing, and writing to ultimately combine my passion of food with editorial work. I have previous experience assisting with the development and publishing of a food magazine including new recipes, cooking tips, food trends, and health advice. I was able to partake in the recipe development process as well as sensory panels, writing and editing, photo shoots, and final cuts. I am interested in expanding my journalism skills to a variety of media platforms and content outlets, including cookbook creation and publishing.
In my personal time, I enjoy baking cakes, making homemade jams, and experiencing local ethnic-focused restaurants. I am seeking full-time or part-time remote positions combing food and editorial work.
