Lameck Stewart Saka is a highly experienced healthcare and rehabilitation specialist, with over thirteen years dedicated to advancing growth, operational excellence, and strategic transformation within the sector. Renowned for his clear vision and pragmatic leadership, Lameck consistently delivers measurable programme outcomes in complex, dynamic environments.
Currently, Lameck serves as Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the University of the West of England, where he is responsible for leading several rehabilitation modules within the Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Occupational Therapy degree programme. His key responsibilities include:
· Leading module teams, overseeing evaluation, development, and reporting processes.
· Preparing and delivering inclusive teaching and learning resources for students.
· Designing assessments and feedback strategies that support diverse learning needs.
· Supervising student research projects and clinical placements.
· Contributing to curriculum evaluation and redesign to meet both national and global healthcare priorities.
· Engaging in research activities to promote evidence-based practice.

Prior to joining the University of the West of England, Lameck held senior positions—including Country Manager and Africa Regional Clinician—at Motivation Africa. In these roles, he led healthcare and rehabilitation initiatives aimed at strengthening service delivery in Malawi’s central and district hospitals and schools. These services encompassed appropriate wheelchair provision, inclusive education, peer mentorship for individuals with spinal injuries, and parent care training for families of children with disabilities. His efforts contributed to increased capacity among health and rehabilitation professionals and enhanced social inclusion for people with disabilities and their families. Lameck is recognized for effective partnership management, capacity building programme design and implementation, and leading high-performing teams.
A committed advocate for equity, diversity, inclusion, empowerment, and sustainability, Lameck has served on the curriculum development committee for Kamuzu University of Health Sciences’ undergraduate BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme in Malawi. He currently sits on a committee developing rehabilitation training manuals for nurses and medical doctors in South Asia and Gambia under the Partnerships in International Medical Education (PRIME) organisation. Lameck regularly speaks on topics including social inclusion, inclusive education, healthcare, and rehabilitation.
